Do Teachers Follow Directions?

Seems like everybody just wants to have things happen for them with no effort on their part. When did we stop reading directions? When did we stop being accountable for making sure that the tools we need to do our job work and that WE KNOW HOW TO USE THEM? I was somewhat surprised today by teachers who did not read directions in order to follow the process to upgrade their email system. How clear can directions get?
